This magnificent Edwardian manor house had been converted into a retirement home with lots of small bedsits. The client inherited the building in a poor state of repair and looking very tired. We needed to look at the building holistically to create the open-plan nursery spaces needed alongside functional offices, WCs, plant rooms and kitchens.
The result breathes life into this Edwardian house and creates a functional nursery which serves the local community. We added a large, timber clad, rear extension which provides access to the newly created play garden. This once tired and unused building is now filled with the sounds of children playing and exploring.
